Direct Access Pathology

We provide GP liaison support to Direct Access Pathology and Phlebotomy providers. We provide modelling support exclusively to NHS pathology laboratories adopting the NHSI pathology networks improvement programme.

As an independent consultancy we are an ideal partner to support the NHSI Pathology Networks programme and the completion of your Network Business Case.

Using sophisticated approaches to bench-marking we calculate the gaps in your current GP service, identifying areas where cold-work is not meeting clinical and TAT targets as per NHSI improvement recommendations.

We specialise in setting set up GP liaison services to ensure customer loyalty is at the forefront of your pathology business case. This will include implementing a CRM system, customer satisfaction programme and a Net Promoter Score (NPS) system.

When working with you our key objectives are:

• Support the NHSI Pathology Consolidation programme
• Engage with your GP clients and Phlebotomist’s
• Analyse current Phlebotomy Clinic timings and Transport schedules
• Work with Essential Service Laboratories to identify GP clients TAT’s
• Simulate flows between the client site, ESL’s and Core Lab
• Improve access to Phlebotomy clinics
• Smoothing the flow of sample arrivals across the working day
• Reducing consumables wastage
• Provide a GP liaison service to support training and implementation

Direct Access Healthcare also work closely with commissioners to set up schemes that provide phlebotomy services in convenient high street locations such as community pharmacies.
